Adding to our portfolio of pub builds is Morris House. Formerly named The Euro Bar, this Melbourne iconic Comedy Club has been reinvigorated and reclaimed with its original title. It provides four levels of varying entertainment fitted with basement stage, pub dining, bar dining with stage and rooftop bar. The goal was to provide Melbournians a taste of everything in the one venue and appeal to a variety of patrons.
Imagined from the New York comedy clubs, this eloquent pub transitions brilliantly from stage entertainment to traditional pub dining and into a contemporary alfresco bar scene. Brick tile cladding, programmable reflected ceiling lights and stage lighting create the ambience of the comedy club setting in the basement. Rich dark timbers, custom axminster carpets, satin brass, booth seating and ornate pendants adorn an old world feel for the dining spaces found on first and second floor. The rooftop transforms into an airy, light filled garden of overhanging planters, brick clad box planters that seamlessly transcend as the flooring, a bar fitted in minimalist white subway tiles and splashback of arch forms highlighted with LED strip lighting.
The main transformation for this publican house was the rooftop bar. Reinforcing what was an eaten through floor from the existing overgrown trees in planters and recreating an area that was more engaging and trendy.
With the success of a challenging build this pub continues to serve as the comedy hub of Melbourne.
