The owners of this heritage listed building used to, as young chaps, spend many hours socialising in this hotel. It had always been their dream to give it a make-over that reflects their own memories whilst modernising the interior. With the assistance of Techne Architects, the design of the hotel has been streamlined to incorporate modern concepts and a flow of old and new. The hotel has several different themes from the public bar through to private dining. In terms of the original layout, the rooms have been retained however doorways have been widened, the exterior upgraded and fittings and fixtures highlight the grandeur of the old building. The quality of finishes and the personal design touches make this hotel a wonderful place to enjoy a simple meal or a dining extravagance. Further to the initial renovation, the owners had a further vision for the enhancement of the Prahran which would put the pub on the world stage for its unique façade – Stage 2 of the works.
