Since the much acclaimed renovation of The Prahran Hotel in 2013, The Sandhill Road Group proved to be no slouches and moved on to overhaul The Terminus Hotel in Abbotsford with excellent results, however The Prahran’s success in the long term remained in the background.
The hype has died down but the desire to continually evolve the Prahran has not. There have been small tweaks here and there but recently Visual Builders were engaged to re-renovate the upstairs area that transitions the original pub with the new extended pipe façade dining area.
The result provides a seamless flow with links in design elements. The copper faced bar is a feature and extends the flow of the overhead copper planter lines that run throughout the upstairs area. The lush green of the overhead planting continues the outdoor courtyard theme which has included removing the windows from the old upstairs courtyard area and fitting it out with park seating and some eye catching tiling. The stripped back brick work brings warmth to the area. Overall the area reflects the same eclectic style the Sandhill Road Group is renowned for.
